The Transition

Collection of watercolor sketches depicting tropical vacation scenes with beach umbrellas, palm trees, and lounging individuals, in shades of pink, green, and orange.

Last year, I asked on Instagram, "What is your idea of a quiet day?" Many of you shared beautiful, heartfelt responses—things like being alone, watching the evening descend, cooking, reading, taking a stroll, or cuddling on the couch.

Inspired by these moments, The Rest Project is a collection of artworks to reclaim joy and slow down in a fast-paced world by reconnecting with the simple things we love.

I am using resting feet as a motif throughout all the artworks. When we rest our feet, we surrender and it has a physical, emotional and mental reaction. While the motif is a common thread throughout all artworks, another thing common to these pieces is simplification. Each moment has been intentionally simplified to magnify what is important in the moment. I have played between minimal and maximal wherever necessary.

'A New Summer in Canada' Original Watercolour Art
$875.00

In August 2024, we moved from downtown Toronto to suburbs in Ajax. The transition allowed me to experience more of the nature available in Canada. Inspired by the waterfront trail that stretches from Toronto to east end, this watercolour captures the shifting beauty of a summer day touched by wind. Created during one of my many walks, the piece reflects a moment when summer had officially begun, yet the breeze carried a reminder of change.

My work often preserves how a place feels at a specific point in time—and with Canadian summers evolving noticeably in recent years, this scene feels both timely and nostalgic. Birds soar, dandelions dance, waves lap against the shore, and the grass sways—reminding us that even in change, beauty endures. Created with distinct, expressive marks to evoke movement and life, this artwork brings colour and the spirit of change into any space.

In August 2024, we moved from downtown Toronto to suburbs in Ajax. The transition allowed me to experience more of the nature available in Canada. Inspired by the waterfront trail that stretches from Toronto to east end, this watercolour is an ode to the quiet surprises nature offers. As an introvert, my walks often lead me to unexpected beauty—like this moment where seagulls and ducks gathered peacefully at the beach. The dynamic blues of the water meet the shore under a vibrant sky, creating movement and calm.

Sketched on location and completed in the studio, the piece is custom framed in natural oak veneer and comes ready to hang—a reflection of the serenity and wonder found just beyond the everyday.

'The Call of the Shore' Original Watercolour Art
$850.00

In August 2024, we moved from downtown Toronto to suburbs in Ajax. The transition allowed me to experience more of the nature available in Canada. Inspired by the waterfront trail that stretches from Toronto to east end, this watercolour artwork is an ode to the country’s brilliant blue waters. I often visit places like the Rotary Park in Ajax to observe the changing beauty of the landscape—and sometimes, simply to be present. On those days, art takes a back seat to a quiet, meditative connection with nature.

This piece invites you to remember a perfect day by the water—where the sun shines, birds sing, leaves dance, water flows, and a smile naturally finds your face.

'The Call of Summer' Original Watercolour Art
$850.00

In August 2024, we moved from downtown Toronto to suburbs in Ajax. The transition allowed me to experience more of the nature available in Canada. Inspired by the waterfront trail that stretches from Toronto to east end, this watercolour artwork captures the quiet beauty of the seasonal shift from spring to summer. Dandelions dance through open fields, the ground still holds on to spring’s colours, birds take flight, and the water glistens in the light. This piece holds two layers of meaning: it’s both an invitation to experience the calm of Canada’s coastal bluffs—a landscape I feel lucky to now call home—and a reflection of my own transition, moving from the energy of Toronto city life to the peace of the suburbs.

Created with distinct, expressive marks to evoke movement and life, this artwork brings colour and the spirit of change into any space.
