In August 2024, we moved from downtown Toronto to suburbs in Ajax. The transition allowed me to experience more of the nature available in Canada. Inspired by the waterfront trail that stretches from Toronto to east end, this watercolour artwork captures the quiet beauty of the seasonal shift from spring to summer. Dandelions dance through open fields, the ground still holds on to spring’s colours, birds take flight, and the water glistens in the light. This piece holds two layers of meaning: it’s both an invitation to experience the calm of Canada’s coastal bluffs—a landscape I feel lucky to now call home—and a reflection of my own transition, moving from the energy of Toronto city life to the peace of the suburbs.
Created with distinct, expressive marks to evoke movement and life, this artwork brings colour and the spirit of change into any space.
