Welcome to The Brush and Beyond Club!
A supportive space for all artists to access resources, ask questions, and grow—together.
Learn from real experience, honest trial and error, and friendly artist-to-artist guidance.
Who am I?
I am Apoorva, a self-taught watercolour artist who is carving her own path. I hate gatekeeping so I am sharing my experiences transparently in one dedicated forum. You do not have to be a painter to take advantage of the resources here!
All the topics are blog style articles. I have tried to make the title and excerpt self-explanatory. I have also used tags such as ‘Art as Business’, ‘Mindset of an Artist’ to allow easy navigation!
Finding Your Creative Frequency
Create one piece a month or fifty. Work in seasons or work constantly. There's no "right" frequency - only the one that works for your life right now.
The Strategy That Keeps Old Pieces Selling
That piece from 2022? Take it to another show. Mix it with new work. Post it again. I didn't retire my old pieces — I kept showing them until they sold. Some took three years. There's no expiration date on art.
Beyond the Algorithm: Building Your Art Business Beyond Social Media
Shows, wholesale, commissions, licensing, Patreon, pop-ups, zines — the artists who thrive aren't the ones with the most followers. They're the ones who figured out multiple ways to get their work into the world.
My Day Job Isn't Holding Me Back — It's Funding My Art
Artists often resent a day job but it can provide freedom for your art practice - want to learn how? Read here!
The Secret Weapon Most Artists Are Missing
Your newsletter is the one place where you own the relationship. No algorithm decides who sees your work. No platform changes the rules.
There's No Right Way to Be an Artist
Over a span of few years, I have figured that there is no right way of being an artist. I have tried a different approach and rhythm every year and it has progressively led to a more developed practice, a calmer mindset, and more sales.

Who Is This For?
This club is for anyone who wants a supportive art space:
• Self-taught artists
• Beginners who feel overwhelmed
• Hobby artists who want gentle guidance
• Creatives looking for honest, experience-based tips
This space is for any artist, not just visual artists.
Why This Format?
I created this space to share more openly through simple posts you can read at your own pace.
Unlike Instagram, where ideas are limited to short captions, or newsletters, where tips get buried in emails, everything here is organized in one place so you can easily find and explore resources whenever you need them.
